Which Surf Fashion Brands Are Sustainably Produced

Surf fashion, much like skater fashion, has always been appreciated beyond the sport as it has created its own reputable style. In fact, people who don’t even live near the sea can often be seen sporting surf-style t-shirts and boardshorts that they've purchased. Though, in our case, from their local surf clothing shop in Jupiter FL to hit the beaches.

This is largely because surf fashion has in its nature a mentality which is defined by being relaxed and taking things as they come.

Having run a well known surf shop  for some time now, we’ve come to learn a lot about the companies behind the brands we sell. Many of these companies were started by ecologically-minded people who wish to produce their goods sustainably. Whether that is through the use of recycled materials, or by the sustainable production of necessary resources, these companies are using their platform to make a difference.

Here are some highly rated brands notable or their efforts towards sustainability

Best Sustainable Surf Brands

As sustainability is still a relatively new concept, many brands are still ironing out how they will move to a more sustainable production process. Therefore some of these brands will be more or less sustainable than others, although they may have outlined how they will get there. These should be regarded as equal with more sustainable brands, as long as they stick to their guns.

Brixton

The perfect example of a brand which is on its merry way to becoming sustainable, Brixton has been around since 2004 and was started in a garage in California. Sustainable Fashion Tips

Simply owning sustainably produced clothes is only half of the battle, as there are many other aspects of fashion which aren’t sustainable. When purchasing goods online, be sure to opt for recyclable packaging options. Also when washing your eco-friendly clothes, be sure to use eco-friendly detergents and a washing machine which uses water efficiently. Otherwise handwashing can use substantially less water.
